Color oops! Colorful Clothing Options This Holi

Holi - the festival of colors; the bringing in of the new; the arrival of spring and the celebration of good over evil. Holi is probably the one Indian festival that is the most loved and the most celebrated. Holi was traditionally the festival where there were no barriers - caste wise or sexually. People rush out into the streets and pump colored water over each other. Throw water balloons on passersby - even strangers. Everything is forgiven. It's a happy day filled with joy and merriment. So what do you to wear to an occasion like this? True it is a celebration to paint yourself in the colors of joy but what would be the appropriate dressing for the celebration?

Women have to worry about several things while dressing up for the festival of Holi. Remember you are going to be splattered with color. Most colors are cheaply made and are purchased off the road. They are high in chemicals. While you cannot control who throws color over you, you can control your choice of attire. If you are going out to play Holi or if you are generally planning to move about on the day of Holi, I suggest you invest in a chiffon sari and preferably one that is not too expensive. If you are willing to discard the sari after use then simply choose a plain color. If on the other hand, you are planning to re use the sari, pick out one which has some kind of abstract print on it. The risk lies in the fact that you will also get splattered with plenty of water. Chiffon tends to get transparent under water. So beware of this. Wear a thick blouse so that you conceal everything that needs to be concealed. No matter what you do, you probably will end up bearing your midriff so take great care of your sari choice.

A salwar kameez is probably your best clothing option. Once again, I suggest you choose chiffon or nylon. They dry up quickly and are easy to take the color off. In addition to that, they also come with a dupatta. You simply drape your dupatta over your upper body to prevent any wardrobe malfunctions. Never select light colors. They stand the risk of getting transparent more easily. Instead choose dark colors. Dark does not necessarily mean dull. Stay away from light shades and pastels but colors like bright blues, purples, deep greens or a combination of colors is ideal for playing Holi.

If you are heading out only to witness the fun or for a 'Holi' party, dress yourself up in a sari. Remember though that you may stand the risk of spoiling your dress. Dress up according to the theme of your party. Most importantly remember to have fun and partake in the enthusiastic spirit of the festival.

So enjoy This Holi in colorful saris and have fun.

A Salwar Kameez for Every Occasion

Every woman is inbuilt with a basic need – the need to look fantastic! Hence the salwar kameez. Its sheer versatility and variety in styles are to die for. Not only do they look fantastic but they are also easily affordable and easily available. With the salwar kameez it is not a question of what occasion to wear it to rather you would have to find new occasions for the salwar kameez.

The salwar kameez is quite a simple piece of clothing belying its grace and elegance. It includes a simple top known as a ‘kurta’ or ‘kameez’ with the lower hemline varying from below the derriere to ankle length. This is worn over a pair of trousers called ‘patiala’ depending on the style. If the pants are fitting along the legs like slacks then they are called ‘churidar’ pants. If they are slightly flared pants they are called ‘salwars’ and if it has plenty of flair then they are called ‘patialias’.

Salwar kameez come in a variety of colors, prints and fabrics. There is a salwar kameez available for every body type. Here are a few options available to suit every type of woman:

1. Skinny Women

There is a huge option and range available for petite women. Indulge yourself in silks and cottons. They are stiffer materials and do not stick to the body. They give an appearance of fullness. Also avoid churidars since they make your legs look rather thin. Salwars and patialas are the ideal option. Short kurtas are the oerfect choice for petite women. Avoid ankle length kutas since they make you look shorter.

2. Apple Shaped Women

The salwar kameez is a blessed creation, especially for apple shaped women. You should always opt for lighter materials like chiffon or georgette. Also choose a salwar kameez with smaller print. Darker shades are ideal. A little shimmer along the chest takes the attention away from the rest of the body. Similarly apple shaped women should avoid wearing short kurtas. Always choose tops which are below the knees and have slits on either side. Churidar pants are also a wonderful option. Just ensure that your kurta is long enough to come mid calf – especially for those with heavy calves.

3. Pear Shaped Women

Pear shaped women are those who are slimmer on top but are rather broad from the hips down. An ideal choice for such women is to make empire waist flair kurtas that come all the way down to the ankles. Also, intricate work along the chest looks fantastic and takes the eye away from the base. Just like for the apple shaped woman. Churidar pants are a good option if the kurta is long enough to reach mid calf – especially for those with heavy thighs and calves.never opt for short kurtas since they emphasize your heavy base.

I hope my information will help you in some aspect. I will try to provide with more on latest designs and trend further.

Pre-Stitched Sarees : A New Fashion Trend

Fashion is considered as the spice of life and ‘change’ is a welcomed phenomenon. Style trend changes according to the time, but there are some outfits which never goes obsolete. Saree is one of such attires which is present in the fashion industry since a very long time and is still becoming popular as a fashion outfit. Sarees are wrap- around attires which are inspired by Indian fashion industry, but due to its prominence in the western fashion world, it has evolved into a fresh fashion trend resulting in indo-western sarees, which is a combination of Indian fashion culture with western style essence.

Pre-stitched designer sarees are sarees that comes with all embellishment and stitching already done on it. Most people do not know how to wear a conventional but attractive saree. The formation of pleats and tucking of parts of the attire is quite complicated and most women may take some time to learn it. However, pre-stitched sarees eradicate the need of being perfect with all these things as all you have to do is slip on the outfit, fasten the closures, see how you look and keep moving. These sarees are usually elegant enough to be donned to any glamorous occasion and carry the stylishness along.

Pre-stitched sarees are beneficial as these saree do not need you to be a ‘veteran saree wearer’. You can wear charismatic looking saree by just donning the attire and fastening the relevant closures. Similar to conventional sarees, even pre-stitched sarees have a ‘blouse’ or top which is partly covered by the ‘pallu’ (the upper end of the attire which is usually well embellished). This proves that the look of pre-stitched sarees is similar to that of any conventional saree. It also saves a lot of time and makes it easy for western enthusiasts to wear the attire and flaunt their feminine beauty with style.
