Honeymoon Travels: Love is in the Air

Keeping the romance alive is one of the most important mantras for sustaining a marriage. Courtship and the first days of nuptial bliss are some of the most important days of your life. Travelling on your honeymoon definitely got better. Munching popcorn and watching your favorite romantic movies just enhances that lovey-dovey feeling.

Your favourite Hollywood flicks may just give you some insights you desperately craved. Also looking at how other’s honeymoons turned out can give you excellent entertainment.

Whether you’re heading to Paris or Hawaii, Bali , carry your favorite DVDs along. Make sure that you and your spouse agree.

These are some of the movies we feel make the cut -

1. Gone with the Wind – Old is gold. A 1939 film, adapted from the only romantic novel ever written by Margaret Mitchell. The story of Scarlett O’Hara in the deep south is poignantly told on camera as a cinematic masterpiece. Rated by film critics as one of the best of all time.

2. Honeymoon Travels – This 2007 movie is one of the funniest Bollywood flicks ever. Six different newly-wed couples get into a bus on a honeymoon to Goa. This film details the incredible quirks of a bunch of people stuck together. An innovative debut by Reema Kagti, it promises to keep you on the edge of your seats. One of the most entertaining and tongue-in-cheek scenes in the movie are the couple who trace their origin to superheroes. Definitely value for money and worth a watch.

3.Titanic: Its claim to fame – one of the highest grossing films of all time. If last year’s Avatar transported you to the magical world of Pandora, the real-life heartbreaking story of the ship with a million dreams has the potential to take you to an alternate dimension.

Leonardo Di Caprio and Kate Winslet make their presence felt in every frame.

4.Casablanca: Humphrey Bogart’s brooding turn as a cynical expatriate captivated generations of cine-goers and critics. The love affair with Ingrid Bergman is the main theme of this movie. Play it again, Sam is one of the most famous misquotes of all time.

5. Sleepless in Seattle: Nora Ephron’s touching romantic comedy on the relationship between a widower(Tom Hanks) and Annie(Meg Ryan) is rated as one of the most sweet and sentimental movies of all time. Guaranteed to wash away your blues.

6. Roman Holiday: Runaway princess Audrey Hepburn meets her commoner prince Gregory Peck, an American reporter covering the royal tour in Rome. The movie is an interesting mirror of its times. Nominated for ten academy awards.

7. Ghost: We round off the list with a flick that was literally out of the world. Patrick Swayze is no longer with us, but his ghost turn as a New York banker was eerily romantic.
