The salwar kameez is quite a simple piece of clothing belying its grace and elegance. It includes a simple top known as a ‘kurta’ or ‘kameez’ with the lower hemline varying from below the derriere to ankle length. This is worn over a pair of trousers called ‘patiala’ depending on the style. If the pants are fitting along the legs like slacks then they are called ‘churidar’ pants. If they are slightly flared pants they are called ‘salwars’ and if it has plenty of flair then they are called ‘patialias’.

Salwar kameez come in a variety of colors, prints and fabrics. There is a salwar kameez available for every body type. Here are a few options available to suit every type of woman:

1. Skinny Women

There is a huge option and range available for petite women. Indulge yourself in silks and cottons. They are stiffer materials and do not stick to the body. They give an appearance of fullness. Also avoid churidars since they make your legs look rather thin. Salwars and patialas are the ideal option. Short kurtas are the oerfect choice for petite women. Avoid ankle length kutas since they make you look shorter.

2. Apple Shaped Women

The salwar kameez is a blessed creation, especially for apple shaped women. You should always opt for lighter materials like chiffon or georgette. Also choose a salwar kameez with smaller print. Darker shades are ideal. A little shimmer along the chest takes the attention away from the rest of the body. Similarly apple shaped women should avoid wearing short kurtas. Always choose tops which are below the knees and have slits on either side. Churidar pants are also a wonderful option. Just ensure that your kurta is long enough to come mid calf – especially for those with heavy calves.

3. Pear Shaped Women

Pear shaped women are those who are slimmer on top but are rather broad from the hips down. An ideal choice for such women is to make empire waist flair kurtas that come all the way down to the ankles. Also, intricate work along the chest looks fantastic and takes the eye away from the base. Just like for the apple shaped woman. Churidar pants are a good option if the kurta is long enough to reach mid calf – especially for those with heavy thighs and calves.never opt for short kurtas since they emphasize your heavy base.

I hope my information will help you in some aspect. I will try to provide with more on latest designs and trend further.
